A quick word on terminology: Strictly speaking, an unattended installation is one which does not require user interaction, and a silent (or quiet) installation is one which does not display any indication of its progress. However, most people use these terms interchangeably.
To perform a silent installation, you need an InstallShield "answer file", customarily named setup.iss. Some applications ship with such a file, but if yours does not, you can use the graphical installer itself to create one.
The first /s tells the PFTW installer to extract silently. The /a tells it to provide the remaining switches to the underlying setup.exe. The second /s tells setup.exe to run silently, while the /v"/qb" tells it to pass /qb to msiexec, which causes msiexec to run non-interactively but display a basic interface.
InstallMaster installers are supposed to recognize the /s switch to perform a silent installation. And in our experience, they generally do. But there is no way to set options, and the exit status is meaningless.
NSIS installers recognize /S for silent installation, /NCRC to suppress the CRC (verification) step, and /D=dir to specify the "output directory", which is where the program will be installed. These options are case-sensitive, so be sure to type them in upper case.
Incidentally, all /S does is change the installer script's SilentInstall attribute from "normal" to "silent". What effect this has, exactly, depends on the person who wrote the script. If /S does not perform a silent install, consider submitting a bug report to the installer's creator.
I try to install silent the whole suite without modified anything but always the installer found error installing Prerequisites so i wrote above you can delete all the Prerequisites in the setup.ini and install them after nero suite.
It works nicely. The problem that everyone is facing with the unattended switches on the main MSI installer file is with the serial number. If you edit the main installer and force the serial number in the "Property" -> "SERIALNUMBER" entry the installer will run through in full GUI mode perfectly. As soon as you use the silent switch on the MSI the wheels fall off (as stated in another MSFN Nero 10 thread a custom DLL is indeed unpacked and loaded into memory which seems to strip the serial info when silently installed). You can check this by adding the "log errors" option "/le c:\nero.txt". Check the text file and it says the install failed due to no serial being present, even though we have forced it.
1) First download 7-Zip and also don't forget to download the 7-Zip SFX modules (7z4**_extra.7z) as they are necessary for creating installers. Install 7-Zip.
What I need is a silent unattended installation. But when I run the above command, it is not a silent installation and I need to press Next button etc. during the install. Is this the correct switch to use? Any more options? Also it is possible to get the error code if any of the installation?

Just a heads up to @J Gorrell as well as anyone else having trouble with downloading the .msi files provided by @AllainU, please note that if you are using Chrome or any of the Chromium-based browsers (e.g., Vivaldi, etc.), you're more than likely experiencing the results of a new security feature that was silently pushed out to the browsers, which blocks .exe/.msi/etc downloads without any visible error or prompt on the browser's frontend user space. Here's how you would bypass the issue: 2ff7e9595c
