Of course, the suspicion has been that EA would simply apply a kit and roster update and leave it at that on the 3DS, as it often has in the past. This time there's no actual doubt, as the Nintendo download press release said the following about the new entry.

I have fifa 12 for my 3DS and its actually a pretty good game, I still play it sometimes even if I also have it on the Vita, but I don't care about kit upgrades so no interest in upgrading they should offer the kit update as a dlc for people who want it instead of selling it as a new game
So FIFA 2012.2 has been released with the roster updates then? At least they were smart enough to admit that it is essentially what they were doing, while secretly hoping everyone forgot about last years reskin.
What an utterly classless move by EA towards both 3DS and Vita owners. I could maybe excuse the PS2 version just getting a roster update since the PS2's main status is now a legacy system or a key platform in developing regions.
And if EA felt there was not enough of a market on either platform beyond roster updates, than price the games at $19.99. I still enjoy Madden to some degree, but this is an utterly classless move by EA and its them flipping the bird at Nintendo and Sony fans. 2ff7e9595c
